And if you aren't, it is still worth ringing. Travel is rarely what makes a job impossible — a full day's work an hour away is easier to justify than an hour's work ten minutes away, so tell us what you need before assuming we won't come.

What "emergency" actually means here
The 24-hour callout is real, but it is one person with a van, not a rota. Here is the honest version so you can plan.

Genuine emergencies
No power, exposed live parts, water where it shouldn't be, a burnt smell from the consumer unit, or a property left insecure after a break-in. Ring, whatever the hour.

Urgent, but it'll keep
An alarm activating intermittently, a camera off-line, an entry panel that has stopped releasing. Usually same-day or next-day, and you'll be given a real time rather than "sometime Tuesday".

Planned work
Installations and annual checks are booked in and you get a date and a start time. If we are going to be late you will get a call — which should not be worth mentioning, but here we are.
